Passionate about Application Development? So are we.

WMPromus partners with Docker to leverage cutting-edge trends that accelerate development, enhance efficiency, and drive agility for our clients in today’s dynamic landscape. If you haven’t already read it, have a look at the 2024 Docker State of Application Development Report: https://www.docker.com/resources/2024-state-of-application-development-report/

The report analyses current trends, challenges, and preferences in software development, including the impact of AI, security concerns, and the rise of microservices.

In terms of the current state of application development, the reports key findings reveal a significant shift towards microservices, remote development environments, and the integration of AI/ML technologies. What really grabbed my attention was that 64% of those interviewed use AI for tasks like writing code and documentation, with 46% working on machine learning projects. Also, we were interested that although developers express a desire for better security tools, only 14% view the shift-left approach to security as important.

Also, the survey reveals a strong preference for microservices architecture and widespread use of containers in development. This trend reflects the industry’s move towards more modular and efficient application structures. 51% of respondents work on microservices-based applications, while 35% work on monolithic apps. Also, 80% use containers in development, with 76% using them primarily for development tasks.

Interesting, isn’t it? Let’s chat more about this. enquiries@wmpromus.com
