AWX: Change is coming!
AWX, the open-source community project that has powered the Ansible Automation Controller since 2013, has been central to enabling IT teams to scale and manage their automation strategies. However, as automation technology rapidly evolves, AWX is undergoing significant updates. What are they?
AWX Modernisation: What’s changing?
As the monolithic architectures grow increasingly complex, adding new features becomes more time-consuming. To meet modern demands, AWX is transitioning to a services-based architecture, with multiple repositories and components, and adopting cloud-native principles for better scalability, efficiency, and flexibility. Once complete, AWX will serve as the API and scheduler, with all other components distributed across separate repositories. This shift brings both structural and functional updates that will affect current AWX users.
